QQI Accredited BTEI (Back To Education Initiative) Programme
Our part-time programme is divided into two streams, a Beginners Computers course at QQI Level 3 and an Intermediate Computers course at QQI Level 4, and tuition is free to people or their spouses who are in receipt of a Social Welfare payment for both of these courses.
We also have a separate part time Design Skills and Digital Fabrication course and a Manual Bookkeeping and Computerised Accounts Level 5 course subject to numbers and demand.
Below are further details about our BTEI programme courses. |
Beginners (Level 3)
Beginners QQI Level 3 – September – May.
The course runs for four days a week (Mon-Thurs 10am- 12:30pm) for each module (usually 4 weeks) and covers the following :
- Internet Skills
- Word Processing
- Spreadsheets
- Communications
- Computer Literacy
- Maths
Completion of the course will lead to a QQI full award in Information and Communications Technology |

Intermediate QQI Level 4 (January – December)
Course runs Monday to Friday from 10am to 1pm (No classes during school holidays).
Each module listed below takes approximately 3 weeks to complete:
- Information Technology Skills
- Word Processing
- Spreadsheet Methods
- Communications
- Database Methods
- Mathematics
- Desktop Publishing
- Work Experience
- Web Design
Upon successful completion of all modules, learners will achieve a QQI Level 4 Major Award in Information and Communication Technology Skills.
