Christmas is fast approaching, and its swift arrival has us here at Mohill Enterprise Centre beginning to wind down for the holidays. So, with that in mind, this blog is all about what’s been happening here over the last few months, and also details some of the courses we plan to run in the New Year.
Full Time QQI Level 5 Computer Applications for the Workplace Course
Our full-time Computer Applications for the Workplace programme has been running for nearly three months. During this period, course participants have completed the first module, Word Processing, and are currently nearing the end of our second module, Image Processing. The time is passing quite quickly and it won’t be long until Christmas has passed and participants return to continue onto the next module. Places are still available on this course, so, if you are interested give us a call.
BTEI Part-Time QQI Level 4 Course
Some of our part time Level 4 course participants decided to complete their level 4 award in October by coming back and taking the Web Design and Desktop Publishing modules. The former of these modules is already complete and the latter will be completed this week. Then, next year, we will be commencing a new Level 4 course for a set of mostly new participants, starting with the Information Technology Skills module.
Design Skills and Digital Fabrication Course
After running the first certified course in Design Skills and Digital Fabrication earlier this year, another run of this course is currently going ahead. This course aims to provide students with a broad overview of design and digital fabrication. Using a mix of classroom sessions, hands-on lab work and self directed project work, this course will facilitate the learner to engage in a creative design process, appreciate design principles as a problem solving activity and gain an understanding of the role of digital fabrication in a design skillset. The participants are well on their way to producing project portfolios of work on their design projects, and have recently been working with both 2D and 3D design programs, including QCAD and Autodesk Fusion 360.
