Training is delivered in a spacious room with state-of-the-art facilities including a 75-inch interactive ViewSonic touch screen, a wireless overhead projector and a camera for live streaming.
Our course is fully accredited by QQI and offers a Level 5 Major Award in Information Processing. In addition to learning the skills sought after by employers this Major Award can also be used to gain access to Third Level Education via the CAO with up to 390 points available.

Communications
This module will cover all the different forms of communication – including verbal and written – and will also cover such things as Online Work and Learning Platforms, Word Processing, Report Writing, Presentation Design and Delivery, Interview Preparation and Interview Skills and Teamwork
Spreadsheets
This module will cover both the use of spreadsheets and the design of spreadsheet solutions that can be used in work or personal environments. MS Excel will be the application used.
Bookkeeping Manual & Computerised
This module will cover both traditional manual bookkeeping and computerised bookkeeping using Sage 50.
For manual bookkeeping we will cover:

For computerised bookkeeping we will cover the use of a Computerised Bookkeeping package (Sage 50) to complete all of the bookkeeping tasks previously covered in Manual Bookkeeping. We have found that employers value those with knowledge/experience in this area.
Databases
This module will cover both the use of database and the design of database solutions that can be used in work or personal environments. MS Access will be the application used. Some of the areas that will be covered include:
- Database Design
- Form Design
- Query Design
- Report Design
Information Communication Systems
This module looks at the ways in which data and information are used by organisation, from data collection and data analysis through to data/information output. From the practical side it looks at various different online tools – blogging, podcasts, the use of Cloud platforms and do on.
Payroll: Manual & Computerised
This manual part of the Payroll module will cover:
- Processing payroll for employee(s) to include – gross pay, holidays, unpaid leave, cut-off points, credits, all statutory and non-statutory deductions
- Process the payroll for employee(s) without a PPSN number or for those that Revenue have not yet issued a Revenue Payroll Notification
- Demonstrate the changes in personal tax due to various factors – mid-year commencement and leaving of employment, changes in credits, refunds etc
- Demonstrate an understanding of the PAYE reporting requirements of an employer
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Revenue services myAccount and ROS
- Analyse the impact of changes in legislation on personal tax and take-home pay by comparing two tax years
In computurised payroll we will cover the use of a Computerised Payroll package (Sage Payroll) to complete all of the payroll tasks previously covered in Manual Payroll. Again, we have found that employers value those with knowledge/experience in this area.
Digital Marketing
This programme module aims to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill, and competence to develop and execute digital marketing strategies and activities, under supervision, using a range of e-tools within a range of digital marketing contexts.
Work Experience
This final module will focus on prepare participants for seeking employment or higher QQI level courses. It will focus on understanding an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, industry analysis, and applying for jobs. The module also includes a practical work placement.
